En route to DHL’s GoGreen goals
Kicking off with a small pretrial in Japan (2006), DHL has been investing in a growing fleet of specially fitted Mercedes-Benz trucks.
A popular addition to DHL’s German and UK operations since early 2008, these diesel-electric hybrids are up to 20 percent more fuel efficient than traditional diesel trucks.
Following a multipronged reduction approach, we are also testing a dynamic route-planning software to cut cost, time, and further CO2 emissions on some Express city routes.

En route to DHL’s GoGreen goals
In a parallel trial, DHL Sweden is currently switching to eco-friendly company cars that run on ethanol, biogas, natural gas, or electricity. The local branch plans to replace all remaining “traditional” models within the following three years.
