Hurricane Katrina
We all remember the tragic scenes of Katrina’s passage through New Orleans. When the hurricane hit in 2005, it left a trail of destruction in its wake and large parts of the city flooded or destroyed.
Uniquely equipped with just the right know-how and transport infrastructure to get life-saving supplies through busy airports or tough terrain, our US-based Disaster Response Team coordinated international relief flights from 18 countries at the nearby Little Rock Air Force base.
United by the gale-force disaster, everyone lent a helping hand: backed by US Air Force personnel, 21 DHL volunteers made sure that 2,370 tons of vital supplies reached the affected victims and families.
