Ciao, Cara! Milan’s Glittering Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week is arguably the most eagerly awaited prêt-a-porter appointment in the world and this year the designers couldn’t wait to get their wares out in front of the world’s eyes.

Just as the sun was setting on the shows in London on September 21, models for Gucci were out on the catwalks, displaying sophisticated after-dark looks in black and gold. It was a stylish contrast to the bolder colors across the Channel and the heralding of new and exciting things that came over the next week when over 230 collections were presented across the city.

As the Official Logistics Partner to Milan’s Fashion Week, DHL not only helped get those collections into and around the notoriously congested metropolis. They also helped support up-and-coming designer Alessia Crea, winner of the 2010 Next Generation contest, in presenting her collection.

With back-to-back shows and garments often arriving at the zero hour, the shows as part of fashion week are no walk in the park. But DHL’s dedicated fleet and years of supply chain experience has given us the knowledge we need to pull out all the stops to get those styles out on the runway.

Milan Fashion Week is just one of the ways DHL shows its fashion prowess. For more on our partnership with IMG FASHION WEEK, have a look here.
