Moscow’s Fashion Future Looks Bright

Spring 2012 looks to be bright, if the designs showcased on Moscow’s runways this week as part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia are any clue. With over 80 collections being displayed before the shows close on October 25, there’s a lot of ready-to-wear to choose from. The common thread this year is color – and lots of it!

Featuring top Russian designers like Dasha Gauser, Biryukov, HakaMa and Pure Vinnie alongside a collective of Italian designers and the Sri-Lankan newcomer Buddhi Batiks, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia has quite the international flair. All the more fitting, then, that a number of young and emerging designers have been invited to show for their first time at the city’s World Trade Center.

Fashion has certainly gone global. And thanks to DHL, items shown on the catwalks of Moscow today can appear in the boutiques of Tokyo tomorrow. Covering over 220 countries and territories, the DHL network offers special solutions for the fashion and textiles industry – from the transportation of samples to the delivery of finished products throughout the world.

That’s why world famous designers like Vivienne Westwood trust us with the delivery of their collections. It’s also why we’re proud sponsors of a design competition at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia that allows emerging designers to show their collections in the Moscow shows.

Check back after the shows are over next week to read more about the winner of DHL’s “Speed of Yellow” competition.
