Announcing the Prizes of Volvo Ocean Race Game 2011-2012

The prizes of Volvo Ocean Race Game 2011-2012 have been announced! First, second and third place will be awarded for each leg and overall for the entire race.

The ultimate winner of the Volvo Ocean Race Game will take home a brand new Volvo XC60 Ocean Race Edition. Second prize is a unique IWC Schaffhausen timepiece. As the Official Logistics Partner, DHL is proud to offer the third overall prize. Because we are also the Official Logistics Partner of Formula 1TM, we will present the third-place finisher with a Grand Prix Hospitality package for two that includes flights, hotel and VIP access to Paddock Club!

Leg one was full of surprises with three boats forced to retire early. Overcoming brutal seas and challenging conditions, Team Felefónica dominated the first leg of the race after 21 days and 5 hours at sea. Team Camper followed 16 hours later while Groupama, the final boat, sailed through the finish line three days later.

The second in-port race in Cape Town is slated for December 10 with Leg 2 – a 5,430-nautical-mile odyssey up the west coast of Africa to Abu Dhabi – beginning on December 11.
