Sneak Preview: DHL Partnerships in 2012

2012 looks to be another heart-pounding year for DHL. With the new Manchester United partnership just launched, a fast-paced Formula 1 racing season on tap, and the unpredictable round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race already in mid-stream, there’s lots in store for DHL partnerships this year.

Formula 1

Now in its sixth year, the DHL Fastest Lap Award will be handed out to the Formula 1 pilot who records the most number of fastest laps at the end of a season. Starting in March, this whirlwind year will see 20 races across five continents, a partnership certain to move at the Speed of Yellow.

Volvo Ocean Race

With Leg 2 of the 2011-2012 Volvo Ocean Race set to finish in Abu Dhabi on New Year’s Day, the renowned yachting challenge promises to keep viewers entertained for months. The nine-month, ten-leg race spans the globe and has already proven challenging for the six teams involved. As Official Logistics Partner this year, DHL is not only providing round-the-clock logistical support, we’re honoring the ‘unsung heroes’ behind the race – the shore crews – who make it possible for the teams to compete with an award after each race leg.

Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra

One of the word’s oldest and most renowned orchestras, the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra sets off on an Asian tour in February and DHL will be along for the ride. Transporting delicate, priceless instruments is no easy task, but with DHL, the orchestra is in good hands.

Fashion Week

As the Official Logistics Partner for 23 different Fashion Week events in cities around the world, DHL helps designers bring haute couture to the masses around the world. 2012 will be no different, with the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin shows kicking off a packed stylish year.

Manchester United

DHL’s most recent partnership with Manchester United as the historic football club’s first official training kit sponsor kicked off in summer 2011 with United’s popular pre-season US tour in the United States. We look forward to helping the team deliver success both on and off the pitch in the coming year.

Living Responsibility

A sustainable and green future requires active engagement in helping the world solve the logistics problems of the future. DHL staff has taken on the task of Living Responsibility to help ensure a sustainable future. This includes helping people, be it as local community volunteers or as part of our Disaster Response Teams. DHL is proud of what these employees are doing and here at Brandworld, we’ll be showcasing the technologies being developed to reach sustainability goals for making the world a better place.

Stay tuned to DHL Brandworld to see all the action in 2012.
