Michalsky Stylenite 2012: Spectacular

As one of Berlin's biggest designers, Michael Michalsky's presentations are the highlight of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin – and the Winter 2012 Michalsky Stylenite show proved no exception.

Berlin's iconic Tempodrom, usually reserved for concerts and circuses, created an unusual backdrop for a unique fashion experience that had guests enraptured from the moment they stepped out onto the red carpet.

Accessories designer Roeckl opened the event, presenting her new collection with an unusual flair. Models sashayed down the runway adorned in lengthy scarves, Russian-inspired wool shawls or fur-lined hats and gloves and little more – their bodies fully painted to keep attention on the accessories on display – before breaking into a can-can reminiscent of the Radio City Music Hall dancers.

German pop sensation Frida Gold brought the show back to the twentieth century when she appeared on stage in a citrus sweater dress and sky-high shoes to show the audience how she danced.

It's so you!: the designs of Berlin-based label C'est tout proved an exciting interlude, presenting timeless high-end business casual designs for the everywoman that looked good both on the catwalk and off. Following on her heels with sparkling stilettos, Marina and the Diamonds strutted on stage, winding up the audience for the grand finale: the Michalsky show.

Known for creating streetwear with an edge, Michalsky presented an eye-grabbing womenswear collection, with sparkling crystal-encrusted blazers, sweaters, and skirts. The former designer for Adidas combined neutrals with a deep blue and a specially-dyed chiffon to add punch to streamlined shapes. Pairing his menswear casuals with high-tops, the designer created an attention-grabbing off-runway look.

The styles represented Berlin's current fashion state well with their mixture of classics and daring, of streetwear and sophistication.

Months of planning go into an hour-long event like this and in an exclusive partnership with Michalsky, DHL was responsible for ensuring the collection arrived on time and in the best condition. It's just one of the ways we're helping fashion events remain seamless. For more photos from Michalsky Style Nite 2012, have a look at our Facebook fan page.
