DHL brings Fashion to Istanbul

While the countdown for Fashionable Istanbul by Avea has started, world famous designers entrust DHL exclusively with the shipping of their precious collections.

DHL, leader of the logistics industry and supporter of the international fashion community, is a global partner of prestigous fashion weeks and events produced by IMG Fashion around the world. In expansion of this global partnership, DHL has added Fashionable Istanbul, owned and produced by Baykam & RBM, to their lineup of fashion events in which they sponsor.

In the very first season of Fashionable Istanbul, from October 23 – 25, 2009, international top designers like Salvatore Ferragamo, Vivienne Westwood, Roberto Cavalli, and Missoni will present their collections in Turkey. As a part of the partnership, DHL will transport these precious and valuable collections from Milan to İstanbul. As designers are still tremendously busy with media requests in Italy, shipments to the Fashionable Istanbul event will have very limited time for their journey. With the motto “The world is our runway” DHL will be racing against time, in order to make sure that each and every item reaches İstanbul on time.

Traditionally the biggest and most pretigious fashion events took place in fashion capitals like New York, London, Milan and Paris. As a global logistics partner, DHL will now bring international fashion to Istanbul. With the professional scale of Fashionable Istanbul, this Turkish city will become one of the world’s newest fashion centers.
