DHL employees donate blood
Employees of DHL Express Qatar have participated in a blood donation drive, an official said yesterday. The mission, ‘Give Blood Save Lives’ was part of DHL Express Qatar’s ongoing ‘Go Help’ programme.
“A total of 40 company employees each donated up to 500ml of blood,” the official said. DHL has forged firm links with Hamad General Hospital, both in assisting with the hospital’s express and logistics requirements, and also within a wider-ranging community partnership, the official said. Employees who donated blood learned that one in every seven patients entering hospital require blood donations, whilst just three teaspoons of blood can save the life of a premature baby.
DHL Express Qatar HR manager Gail Pantig said: “We were delighted with the high turnout, which again demonstrates the advanced levels of engagement and social responsibility our employees possess.”
“Living Responsibility” for society starts locally. In carrying out our Corporate Responsibility (CR) programs, we rely on the time, talents and passion of our 500,000 employees worldwide. We encourage them to participate in numerous local initiatives in our strategic focus areas: GoGreen, GoHelp and GoTeach.
