Puma Takes Home 2nd Shore Crew Award
Any sailor will tell you that teamwork is vital out on the high seas. But in an intense competition like the Volvo Ocean Race, working together on land is equally as important.

That’s why DHL created the DHL Shore Crew Award, to recognize the efforts of the behind-the-scenes teams, including boat builders and sail makers, to get the equipment ready and yachts in gear before they hit the water.

Telefónica sail to Leg 3 win
Team Telefónica begins looking unbeatable as the Spanish crew clinches its third-straight Volvo Ocean Race leg victory at Sanya.

Despite a rocky start in the first stage of Leg 3 when they finished fourth in the sprint from Abu Dhabi to the Stealth Zone, and a damaged sail on the first night of the second stage, skipper Iker Martinez and crew dominated the race once again, arriving in port at the Chinese island of Sanya ahead of the rest of the fleet on February 4.

Volvo Ocean Race Leg 3 update
As the second stage of Leg 3 develops, all six boats are fighting for supremacy as they head into the Strait of Malacca.

As this report goes to be published, the lead for Leg 3 of the Volvo Ocean Race has changed hands three times in the past 12 hours while the sailors execute navigation strategies in the race to reach the Chinese island of Sanya.

Volvo Ocean Race Leg 2 wrap
The second Leg of the Volvo Ocean Race has come to an end in Abu Dhabi, 25 days, and many adventures, after the fleet left Cape Town in December.

Leg 2 was broken into two chapters to accommodate a special Stealth Zone designed by the race organizers to protect the racers from the infamous pirates that operate in a wide area off the Horn of Africa.

Telefónica clinches Volvo Ocean Race Leg 1 victory after three weeks at sea
The first of the nine legs at the Volvo Ocean Race has a winner. 21 days, 5 hours, 14 minutes and 25 seconds after they left Alicante, Spain on November 5, Team Telefónica sailed into Table Bay in Cape Town, South Africa on Saturday.

The Spanish team Telefónica sailed a near-perfect race and now has a total of 31 points at the top of the scoreboard. CAMPER, which followed Telefónica into Cape Town on Sunday, came in second, and has 29 points. Groupama, the final boat, sailed through the finish line on Tuesday evening, adding 20 points for a total of 22.
