DHL helps Valtra to reduce its carbon footprint - 300 trees were planted for the benefit of the environment

Tractor manufacturer Valtra has offset some 270 tons of carbon dioxide emissions arisen from its spare part transports during August-December 2009. This was possible through cooperation with DHL, the world’s leading express and logistics company. Valtra is the first large industrial company in Finland to use DHL’s carbon-neutral GOGREEN service for all its express shipments.

DHL supports flood relieve efforts in Guatemala

Only a few days after Pacaya, one of Guatemala's most active volcanoes, started erupting, also Tropical Storm "Agatha" hit the region, causing severe floods and landslides. The storm killed more than 100 people and left over tens of thousands losing their homes and seeking rescue in temporary shelters. Due to the volcano eruption, the main airport in Guatemala City had been closed until yesterday, with international help only arriving slowly.

Hewlett-Packard Australia cuts its carbon footprint

Working closely with DHL Global Forwarding (DGF), Hewlett-Packard Australia (HP) has cut CO2 emissions by 41 percent. This reduction for product sourced by sea is the result of a change in transport mode from rail and road to ocean freight for a greater portion of the supply chain.

In 2009, Deutsche Post DHL made significant progress in its worldwide drive to achieve sustainable development. In one reflection of these gains, the world's largest logistics company improved its Carbon Efficiency Index by three points, handled around 1,300 tons of relief supplies during a large number of missions carried out in earthquake-stricken areas, began in early 2009 to support Teach First Germany, an initiative that helps schools located in socially troubled neighborhoods and managed to increase the number of GoGreen shipments from 145 to 700 million.

DHL received Gold - Voted by consumers as one of Asia’s most trusted brands

DHL scored the Gold Award in the ‘Airfreight/Courier Service’ category at the 12th annual Trusted Brands Awards 2010 organized by Reader’s Digest.
For the second year running, DHL clinched the overall Gold Award for Asia and also received a Gold Award in Singapore and six other countries in asia. Continuing the winning streak, this year’s win marks the fourth Gold for DHL in Singapore since 2004.
