Corporate Responsibility Report 2009/2010

In 2009, Deutsche Post DHL made significant progress in its worldwide drive to achieve sustainable development. In one reflection of these gains, the world's largest logistics company improved its Carbon Efficiency Index by three points, handled around 1,300 tons of relief supplies during a large number of missions carried out in earthquake-stricken areas, began in early 2009 to support Teach First Germany, an initiative that helps schools located in socially troubled neighborhoods and managed to increase the number of GoGreen shipments from 145 to 700 million.

DHL launches new global advertising campaign

April 28 marks the start of DHL’s new advertising concept which will launch in 21 countries and in 16 languages with more than 1,500 ads in over 250 publications worldwide. Driven by the company’s goal of ‘Becoming the logistics company for the world’, the global campaign is addressed first and foremost to the decision-makers in today’s business world.

DHL on the Urban Planet’s “Road of Solutions” at Expo 2010

At the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, from May 1 to October 31, 2010, DHL will present innovations in the areas of sustainability and “green” solutions. As the world’s biggest logistics company who was the first to set itself a groupwide quantified carbon efficiency objective, DHL is the ideal partner for the Urban Planet pavilion, the central Chinese theme pavilion presenting the Expo’s overall theme “Better City, Better Life”.

DHL received Gold - Voted by consumers as one of Asia’s most trusted brands
DHL scored the Gold Award in the ‘Airfreight/Courier Service’ category at the 12th annual Trusted Brands Awards 2010 organized by Reader’s Digest.
For the second year running, DHL clinched the overall Gold Award for Asia and also received a Gold Award in Singapore and six other countries in asia. Continuing the winning streak, this year’s win marks the fourth Gold for DHL in Singapore since 2004.

DHL expands secure road transportation

With immediate effect, DHL Freight is offering shippers of high-value high-tech products or other valuable goods a secure transportation solution for Europe-wide road transportation of freight. In future, the new DHL High Value service will expand the current high-value transportation service offerings by extending the required security standards to less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments.

Review: The Bangladesh Business Awards

The Daily Star and DHL Express were all set to host the 10th Bangladesh Business Awards 2009 on Friday 16th April 2010 to crown winners for extraordinary performance in business.
This year, individuals and businesses were being awarded in five categories -- Best Financial Institute, Best Enterprise, Best Business Person of the Year, Outstanding Woman in Business and Lifetime Achievement.

DHL sees growth in pharma products in Asia

DHL has seen a record number of movements of healthcare products in 2009 in Asia. Compared to 2008, shipment of finished pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical equipment and devices and clinical trials facilitated by the DHL Life Sciences & Healthcare Global Customer Solutions grew overall by 7%, a steady growth despite the economic downturn.
