Customer Success Story
Game on!
The global launch of a new game console is an impressive undertaking. With technology fans all over the world eager to get their hands on the latest hardware, the race is on to hit press dates and release countdowns across the globe.
Working to an extremely tight schedule, DHL played a key role in the simultaneous distribution of Microsoft’s coveted Xbox 360 in Europe and North America.
And the launch proved a two-player challenge: preparations kicked off as early as November 2004, when both companies joined forces to map optimal shipping strategies and establish the project’s “central nervous system” – a sophisticated I.T. network.

Game on!
When the first coveted consoles left production in August 2005, the DHL system automatically sent "Advanced Ship Notices" to the U.S. and European distribution centres to give them plenty of warning for efficient capacity planning.
At each step of the process, DHL's automated systems would validate all shipment load information, allowing game fans across the globe reach the next level of console fun.
