100 Years of Aviation

From flights of fancy to global aviation: In October 2008, the French aerospace industry celebrated 100 Years of aviation history.

Working around the clock, DHL’s aerospace logistics specialists made sure that this once-in-a-lifetime celebration took off according to plan and became a soaring success.

As official carrier and logistics provider of the anniversary proceedings, DHL handled all of the events logistics requirements, including transport and protection of several historical gems showcased on Paris’ grand boulevard, the Champs Elysées.

Here, a public exhibition took the audience through 100 years of French aerospace achievements, including some truly exceptional aircraft – from the early 20th century oak and poplar Blériot XI to modern jet fighters like the Mirage III – as well as other ingenious flying innovations.
