While Internet and e-mail are on the rise, new media are not about to replace the classic letter altogether. Many companies continue to rely on printed matter for invoices, bank statements and other important pieces of communication. Nevertheless, there is plenty room for improvement – by combining the best of both approaches!
So, when one of the world’s leading providers of complex IT and Internet solutions realized that their steady stream of paper invoices – around 35,000 every day – took up to six days to reach their European destinations, they searched for an easier, faster and cheaper solution.

DHL had the answer – with "Hybrid Print & Mail," a centrally managed printing and distribution management system that comprises two consecutive steps. First, the client’s customer service center transmits the electronic invoice data to a DHL Global Mail facility where they are formatted for print, sorted and forwarded to a local printing facility close to their final destination.
Only here, within easy reach of the recipient, the invoice is printed, folded, franked and transferred to the local postal network for the last remaining steps of the way. Printing is managed by DHL Global Mail’s sister company Williams Lea, the leading global provider of corporate information solutions.
